However, the presence of the warships has been criticised by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro who has accused the US of seeking regime change and TT of facilitating such. Three of the men, he said, left the one-bedroom apartment, and went to the main house, where they broke a window, entered the property and ransacked the house. His son, who lives in the main house, was not at home at the time of the incident, he said. The intruders found $60,000, jewelry, cellphones, a battery charger, a cordless drill, and $2,000 in alcohol. Asked why the large sum of money was kept at home, he said his son had recently collected four hands of sou-sou and he had sold an engine from a truck. He believed the incident was not a random attack. “I believe it was a tip-off. The boy in the room with my wife and I told us that somebody sent them here, and if they ent get what they send them here for, the person who send them will have to pay the consequences,” he said.
